Please check the items in order according to the symptom you have, and report it with the checked results if still not resolved.

A. Nothing is displayed on the screen?

 

A.1 If BLU does not turn on or its color does not look white:

→ Check the connection of BLU cable or reconnect the BLU (Recommended to turn off system power when reconnecting).

→ Check the connection of Panel or reconnect the Panel (Recommended to turn off system power when reconnecting).

→ Make sure that the jumper caps are correctly placed over (Refer to Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check).

→ Measure whether VDDLED 5v, VDD 1.8v, system power 5v and I2C pull-up 1.8v are properly applied on the RDK. (Refer to Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check).

→ Check if there is a I2C errors in VistaStudio (Refer to Appendix IV : Communication error check in VS).

→ If you have a replaceable BLU, try to replace it.

→ If you have a replaceable Panel and cable, replace them.

A.2 If BLU is turned on but only RAONTECH logo is shown:

→ Unplug a HDMI cable and plug it in again (For USB C type case, try this with a USB cable).

→ Make sure the video input source is connected properly (Refer to the Appendix II : RDK RX and TX configuration check).

→ Check your computer’s display settings. Display name is RAONTECH HOLO and it must be set to target resolution (Refer to Appendix II : RDK RX and TX configuration check).

A.3 If BLU is turned on but nothing appears on the screen:

→ Unplug HDMI cable and plug it in again (For USB C type case, try this with USB cable).

→ Check your computer’s display settings. Display name is ‘RAONTECH HOLO‘ and it must be set to target resolution (Refer to Appendix II : RDK RX and TX configuration check).

→ Check the connection of Panel or reconnect the Panel cable (Recommended to turn off system power when reconnecting).

→ Make sure that the jumper caps are correctly placed over (Refer to Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check below).

→ Measure whether VDDLED 5v, VDD 1.8v, system power 5v and I2C pull-up 1.8v are properly applied on the RDK. (Refer to Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check).

→ Check if there is a I2C errors with VistaStudio (Refer to Appendix IV : Communication error check in VS).

→ If you have a replaceable Panel and cable, try to replace them.

 

B. Image is displayed abnormally on the screen?

 

B.1 Image is cropped or its scan line mis-aligned on the screen:

→ Plug the HDMI cable in again or check its connection (For USB C type case, plug USB cable again or check the its status).

→ Check your computer’s display settings. RAONTECH HOLO must be detected on your system. (Refer to Appendix II : RDK RX and TX configuration check).

→ Check if there is a I2C errors in VistaStudio (Refer to Appendix IV : Communication error check in VS below).

B.2 If flicker is visible:

→ Check the connection of BLU cable or reconnect the BLU (Recommended to turn off system power when reconnecting).

→ Check the connection of Panel or reconnect the Panel (Recommended to turn off system power when reconnecting).

→ Make sure that the jumper caps are correctly placed over (Refer to Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check).

→ Measure whether VDD 1.8v, VDDH 6v are properly applied on the RDK. (Refer to Appendix IV : Communication error check in VS %).

→ If you have a replaceable Panel and cable, try to replace them.

B.3 If the entire screen is cloudy or color reversal occurs:

→ Check the connection of Panel or reconnect the Panel (Recommended to turn off system power when reconnecting).

→ Make sure that the jumper caps are correctly placed over (Refer to Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check).

→ Measure whether VDDLED 5v, VDD 1.8v, VDDH 6v, system power 5v and I2C pull-up 1.8v are properly applied on the RDK. (Refer toAppendix I : RDK  Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check).

 

C. Having trouble using VistaStudio™?

 

C.1 If 'USB Disconnected' is on the status bar of VS: (Unable to connect to USB)

→ Plugin in the USB cable again, that makes EVB system off/on (For windows platform, you must click ‘USB off/on’ buttons after reconnect the USB cable).

→ Check if USB device 'RAONTECH RDK' is detected on your host PC system (Refer to Appendix III : RAON USB detection check %).

→ Check whether the jumper-caps are correctly placed over (Refer to the Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check).

→ Try changing USB cable and reboot your PC.

→ (If you are using USB hub) Try to remove USB hub and connect USB cable directly.

→ Check System power 5v (Refer to the Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check).

C.2 If an error message occurs on the status bar of VS when adjusting 'Pixel shift' and 'LED current' (Except 'refresh'):

→ Plugin in USB cable again, that makes RDK system off/on (For win OS, you must click ‘USB off/on’ buttons after reconnect the USB cable).

→ Make sure the target panel is selected in the toolbar of VS.

→ Check the configuration of the current RDK in VS. If something is wrong, try configure setting again.

→ Try to switch panel-interface to ‘backdoor‘ on tool bar of VS.

→ Make sure that the jumper caps are correctly placed over (Refer to Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check)

→ Check I2C pull-up 1.8v (Refer to the Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check).

C.3 If all item actions show an error messages on status bar:

→ Plugin in USB cable again, that makes RDK system off/on (For win OS, you must click ‘USB off/on’ buttons after reconnecting the USB cable).

→ In your host computer, if another RAON SW is running, shut it down or try to reboot your system.

→ Check the configuration of the current RDK in VS. if something is wrong, try configure setting again (http://developer.raon-tech.com/index.php/vistastudio/).

→ Make sure that the jumper caps are correctly placed over (Refer to Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check).

→ Check I2C pull-up 1.8v (Refer to the Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check).

 

Appendix I : RDK Hardware voltage & jumper-cap check
→ All jumper-caps are must be properly configured prior to use.

→ For normal operation, the following voltages must be applied.


Appendix II : RDK RX and TX configuration check
RX case 1 : LVDS mode (delivery default)   

→ If 'dif path' value from RDC200 Configuration Check is 'LVDS', a HDMI cable must be connected to HDMI port of RDK.

→ Also 'panel_attached' value from RDC200 Configuration Check should be matched to the actual panel connection.                            



RX case 2 : MIPI mode

→ If 'dif path' value from RDC200 Configuration Check is 'MIPI', a USB C cable must be connected to USB port of RDK.

→ Also 'panel_attached' value from RDC200 Configuration Check should be matched to the actual panel connection.



* RX Debugging

→ You can get a lot of information about RX with UART(TTL/CMOS)

→ If you are ready, connect it to RDK (Refer to Appendix I picture above).

→ In VistaStudio, Open RDK Control (On the menu of VS, Click Window-> Show Window -> EVB control).

→ Now, enable Serial communication on serial tab of VS (Click Refresh and chose your serial device -> Check Baud Rate 115200 -> Start button ). 

→ Next, push Configuration button on USB tab of VS.

→ Go back to the serial tab of VS and take a look at the obtained information.

* You can re-initialize RX bridge with 'Initialize' button.
Appendix III : RAON USB Detection check
For Windows, 

→ Go to Device Manager ( Click on Start -> Control Panel -> Select System -> Device Manager )

→ If a USB cable is connected to RDK, USBXpress Device is detected on Device Manager at your host.

→ More specifically, the string RAONTECH EVB should also be shown in the USBXpress Device Property. 

 

For macOS, 

→ Go to Mac Hardware info ( Click on the Apple Symbol -> About this mac... -> and then click 'More info' -> Select Hardware)

→ The USB device 'RAONTECH EVB' should be detected on the Mac Hardware info if a USB cable is connected to RDK.


Appendix IV : Communication error check in VS
→ First, make sure the target RDC type, RDP type and Panel-Interface are set correctly.

→ Click 'Refresh icon' and then check if the error message occurs on the status bar of VS.

→ If the error message occurs, you can try to check RDC or RDP side separately. 
( Thought that may varies from product to product, 'Pixel Shift' and ' 'LED Current' are usually controlled on the panel side and the other features are controlled on the controller side. )
